Iran’s Rudaki wins Asian judo silver

DOHA – Iran’s over-100kg judoka Mohammadreza Rudaki here Saturday took the silver medal at the 15th Asian Games.
Rudaki conceded a loss to the veteran Japanese judoka Yasyuki Muneta by waza-ari in the final showdown.
In the bronze medal playoffs, Abdullo Tangriev from Uzbekistan beat Baeg Chul-Sung of South Korea by ippon and Yeldos Ikhsangaliyev from Kazakhstan overcame Mongolia’s Tuvshinbayar Naidan by ippon.
Earlier, Abbas Fallah representing Iran in the under-100kg class failed to bag bronze after he lost to his Kazakh rival Askhat Zhitkeyev by yuko, finishing fifth.
South Korea’s Jang Sung-Ho defeated Satoshi Ishii from Japan in the final by ippon and the Uzbek judo Utkir Kurbanov beat his Qatari opponent Mohammed Ayad by koka to snatch the bronze.
